Radford University's new coach, Mike McGuire, announced Friday he has hired former Virginia Tech guard Fran Recchia as an assistant. Recchia spent the 2010-11 and 2011-12 seasons at Radford as an assistant to former coach Tajama Ngongba. Recchia spent last season as an assistant at NCAA Division II member Tusculum, where former Radford assistant Katrina Williams is the head coach. Recchia was William Byrd High School's coach for three seasons.
